Oswal Community

We are known for following Jainism adhering to either the Svetambara or Digambara tradition with a sprinkling of Hindu Vaishnavism. Rajasthan, Gujarat (Halar and Kutch regions) and Punjab have a strong presence of Oswals. It is believed that Rajputs joined our group and were called Oswals - relating to the place Osiya - where the conversion occurred. Oswals are now settled in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, South-East Asia and the Middle East too. Vegetarianism is more than a way of life in our community.
